Director of Mission and Ministry for the
Anglican Diocese of Fredericton: Shawn Branch (sbranch@diofton.ca)

The role of warden has some key components but tends to change according to the skills and interest of the person in the role. The main responsibilities include:
-
Support the incumbent in the wider mission of the church.
-
Ensure that the financial activities of the church including recording offerings, reviewing expenditures, signing cheques and creating tax receipts are taken care of.
-
Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for the congregation and visitors.
-
Ensure that the maintenance, safety and use of our church building and rectory are appropriate.
If you feel called to become a warden, you will have the support of a strong leadership team.
We are also looking for new Vestry members and are grateful for those who are willing to serve another term. Being on Vestry is a great way to learn more about your church.
Our "layreaders" provide a leadership role in certain parts of the service, including "Prayers of the People", which they prepare to include current prayer needs in the news. On occasion, they lead the entire service and deliver the sermon in our rector's absence, and assist at weddings and funerals.
