Since Oct 2nd, 2022, the Reverend Keith Joyce has been presiding over our Sunday Services.  Fr. Keith recently moved to Millidgeville after retiring from St. Paul's in Brighton, ON, and has graciously offered to provide ministry to our Parish while we continue our search for a permanent Rector. He marked his 40th anniversary as priest on Nov. 28, 2022.

Keith was born in Sussex, England after his missionary parents had left China where they had served for roughly 20 years. Given that his parents’ missionary work eventually continued in the Middle East, Keith lived and went to school in Lebanon, Abu Dhabi, and India (and a number of provinces when returning to Canada on furlough).

After graduating from high school in Saskatchewan he came to Toronto where he received a music degree from the University of Toronto. Most importantly, that’s where he met Elinor Woollard. They were married in May of 1977. They have three children, and six grandchildren – the oldest daughter, Caitlin, and family in Alberta, next daughter, Jessica, and her family in Quispamsis, and the youngest, son Alastair and family, in Fredericton. In midst of family life and care, Elinor worked as a French immersion teacher in various schools.

As Caitlin was born, Keith both was ordained deacon and was placed by the bishop in a curacy in Toronto just before he graduated with his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity College. Following the curacy, Keith and Elinor went to three different Churches of St Paul in three different dioceses (Toronto, Montreal, Fredericton) before the Bishop Lemmon appointed him Dean of the Cathedral here in Fredericton. Finally, they returned to the first St Paul’s Church before he retired in June 2021 and moved to Milledgeville.
